The Ever Seas Series
What is it?
The Ever Seas is a dark romantic fantasy series about fae pirates.(Perfect for people who grew up loving Jack Sparrow and Will Turner!). The story is told from two points of view. The Serpent, Erik Bloodsinger, is the vicious, ruthless pirate king who seeks revenge against the Earth Bender King for killing his father. The Songbird, Livia Ferus, daughter of the Earth Bender King, is innocent, happy, and a little sheltered. When Livia accidentally opens the Chasm splitting their two lands, Erik comes to exact his revenge. But with the Earth Bender no where to be found, what better way to exact his revenge than stealing his daughter?
How Do I Read it?
The Ever Seas is a second generation series of The Broken Kingdoms Series written by L.J Andrews. It takes place in the same world years after the ending of The Broken Kingdom Series. However, The Ever Seas is written so that it can be read independently from The Broken Kingdom. Some readers say that you should read The Broken Kingdom first in order to fully understand any characters that show up and to avoid any possible spoilers. Personally, I did not realize that The Ever Seas was a second generation story, so I read it without first reading the Broken Kingdom. I did not find the story confusing at all and found it very enjoyable. Plus, beginning with The Ever Seas may be less daunting as there are currently three (soon to be four) books in the series, while The Broken Kingdom has nine.
There is no confusing reading order for this series. You read them in publication order: The Ever King, The Ever Queen, The Mist Thief, and The Stolen Crown (not yet released).
The Ever King and The Ever Queen follow the story of Livia and Erik, while The Mist Thief and Stolen Crown follow the love stories of side characters from these books.

Is it Spicy?
Yes! The Ever Seas books are romance heavy. While the stories follow an overall plot, the main focus of the story is the romance. As such, there are many spicy chapters throughout the books. The author has a list of trigger warnings available before you decide to read the series.
