Simple Washcloth Crochet Pattern

If you’re new to crochet and looking for an easy practice project project, this simple washcloth is perfect! Washcloths are one of the best beginner projects because they work up quickly and help you practice basic stitches. This project can be made in about an hour and is a great way to practice your single crochet stitch. It Can be easily customized to practice different stitches and color changes.
Materials
Size H or 5.0 mm crochet hook
Medium worsted weight yarn in any color
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Size
Finished project is approximately 8.5 in x 8.5 in. Size will vary based on the tightness of your stitches.
Abbreviations
Ch – Chain
Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Half Double Crochet
St – Stitch
Fo- Fasten off

This pattern is worked in rows. Unless otherwise stated, Ch 1 at the end of each row and turn work.
Super Simple Washcloth Pattern
Row 1- Ch 31
Row 2 – Sc in the second ch from the hook and in the next 29 ch (30)
Rows 3-32 – Sc across (30)
You can continue sc rows if you would like the washcloth to be longer.
Row 33 – Sc around entire project. (Sc, hdc, sc) into the four corners. This row is not necessary, but will make the project look more even and finished.
F/O and weave in ends.
Tips for Beginners
If your washcloth starts looking uneven, try counting your stitches at the end of each row to make sure you didn’t accidentally add or skip any. Keep your tension even.
