Simple Crochet Ball Pattern
Crocheting a ball is a fun and easy project that’s perfect for beginners. It’s a very versatile project to learn to make. Materials
Size H or 5.0 mm Crochet Hook ( you can use any size based on your yarn. This is just the basic size).
Medium worsted weight yarn in any color.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Poly-fil stuffing
Stitch marker or a small piece of yarn. It is extremely easy to lose you place while crocheting in the round!
Abbreviations
Sc- Single Crochet
Inc- Single Crochet Increase
Dec- Single Crochet Decrease
St- Stitch
MR – Magic Ring
F/O- Fasten off
**** This pattern is worked in rounds. Be sure to mark the beginning of your round and count your stitches.
Stitch count is marked at the end of each row.
Crochet Ball Pattern
Round 1 – sc 6 into a magic ring. Pull tail to tighten (6)
Round 2- inc in each st (12)
Round 3 – (sc, inc) repeat around (18)
Round 4 – (sc 2, inc) repeat around (24)
Rounds 5-7 – sc 24 (24)
Round 8 – (sc 2, dec) repeat around (18)
Round 9 – (sc, dec) repeat around (12)
*** stop here and stuff your ball. Do not over stuff or the project will be stretched out. You want it to be firm.
Round 10 – Dec around (6)
F/O leaving tail of a few inches to weave into the ball.
