Meowy Christmas To All by Lynette Ordonez is one of three new animal themed holiday board books releasing in August this year. Other books in the series will include Thanksgiving Puppy Parade and Chick-or-Treat! It’s Halloween!. The books will only be available in board book format.
This is a holiday themed book meant for toddlers and preschoolers. The colors are bright and bold (and obviously holiday themed). Even the font is interesting and whimsical, fitting well with the Christmas theme of the book. For the adults reading this book to children, there are lots of cat related puns.
The story itself does not have a lot of substance, as can be expected from a book for this age group. However, it is very cute and focuses on things cats love during Christmas. Boxes, trees, and lights- how exciting! The sentences are short and easy to understand and go perfectly with the images on each page. Each page features an adorable, Christmas themed photograph of a cat that can easily be discussed.
Meowy Christmas To All is highly engaging and would be a fun way to add to the holiday cheer for anyone with children who love cats!
