Super Simple & Fast Crochet Bookmark Pattern

If you’re new to crochet and looking for an easy project to practice your single crochet stitch, this simple bookmark is a great place to start! It’s repetitive and works up in less than 30 minutes. It’s a super easy beginner project that gives you something you can use at the end.
Materials
Size H or 5.0 mm crochet hook
Medium worsted weight yarn in any color
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations
Ch- Chain
Sc- Single crochet
F/O – Fasten off
** Note
This pattern is worked in rows. Unless otherwise stated, Ch 1 at the end of each row and turn work.
Simple Scarf Pattern
Row 1- Ch 31 ( you can add more chains to make the bookmark longer as desired)
Row 2 – Sc in the second ch from the hook and in the next 29 ch (30)
Rows 3-5- Sc 30 ( you can add more rows if you want the bookmark to be wider)
Row 6- without turning work, sc around the bookmark to even out the edges. Put 2 sc in each corner.
F/0 and weave in ends.
Tassels (optional)
Cut 6 pieces of yarn in 6″ lengths.
Fold lengths of yarn in half.
Use hook to pull through bookmark in desired location. You only need to pull through a about half an inch. It should leave a loop of yarn on one side of your work and loose yarn on the other.
Over the top of your work pull the loose yarn through the loop you created. Then pull to slide the knot until it is touching the bookmark.
Tips
Count your Stitches – It’s easy to accidentally add or skip a stitch when turning rows, so count your stitches to stay on track.
